Ingredients
• 200g brown sugar
• 200g butter
• 1 tbsp golden syrup
• 300g plain flour
• Drop of vanilla
• 1 tsp bicarbonate soda
• 200g bar chocolate
Method
Preheat the oven to 180˚C. Line 2 large baking trays with parchment paper.
Cream the butter, sugar and syrup together.
Sift the flour and bicarbonate of soda together in a large bowl. Add to the butter and sugar mixture along with the vanilla and mix well into a dough.
Make about 15 ping pong ball size balls from the dough and push chunks of the chocolate into each ball.
Place the balls on the baking sheets and press down gently with the palm of your hand. Make sure they are well separated as they will spread while cooking. Bake for 12- 15 minutes, until they are golden brown.
Put on a wire rack to cool.
