This widely available, inexpensive fruit is full of amazing benefits for your health. It has low calories, low cholesterol and low saturated fat. Like most citrus fruits, it is a very rich source of vitamin C which is an amazing antioxidant. It also contains vitamin A, vitamin B6 and vitamin B1 (thiamine) in lesser amounts. Minerals present in lemon include copper, calcium and potassium.

Lemons are high in vitamin C, which is great for clearer, brighter skin, reduced wrinkles and making scars less visible. As it’s antibacterial, it’s great for breakouts and helps with acne scars too. Drinking lemon water rejuvenates the skin as the antioxidants fight damage caused by free radicals, keeping your skin looking fresh. It also helps the body produce collagen, which helps smooth out lines in the face.
Breakout targeting face mask:
• 1/2 tsp lemon juice
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tbsp honey
Mix together until smooth. Gently spread on the face without scrubbing and rinse off after 15 minutes.
Brightening tumeric and lemon face mask:
• 3 tbsp rolled oats
• 1 squeeze fresh lemon juice
• 1 tbsp honey (preferably Manuka)
• 1/2 tsp turmeric
Mix together in a bowl until well combined. Apply on a clean face and rinse off after 15-20 minutes.

Note: When using lemons or any other citrus on your face, make sure it is completely washed off before you go out in the sun, so you don’t get a chemical burn. And of course, be careful not to get it in your eyes.
Improve your digestion and regulate your appetite by feeling full for longer by drinking warm lemon water.
Morning detox drink:
Mix the juice of half a lemon and 1-2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar together with warm filtered water. Drink first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
This drink will help to boost weight loss, detoxify the liver, stimulate digestion and improve your skin.
Mixing lemon juice and 1 tbsp. of honey to a warm glass of water can also help relieve menstrual cramps. This mix will have an alkalizing effect on your body that will keep you hydrated.
Other ways to use lemons for treatment:
Sinus and sore throats: Mix togethr 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar, 2 tsp. of honey and 1-2 tbsp. of lemon juice with some hot water. This will soothe your throat and the Vitamin C from the lemon will help boost your immune system.
Headaches: Add a few slices of lemon to your tea, or even just rub a slice against your temple and forehead.
Fever: Reduce a fever by combining 1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice, 2 1/2 cups warm water, and 1/2 teaspoon honey. Drink slowly.
Insect bites: Soak a cotton ball in some lemon juice and apply to the itchy area.
Kidney stones: Lemon juice increases the amount of citrate in the urine to levels known to inhibit kidney stones. Mix half a cup of lemon juice with 7 cups of water.
